Liberec, CZ

I wanted to see a LOT of snow, so we went to Liberec. A student of mine whom I am teaching on Zoom has been in Liberec for the last two weeks and he told me that there was a lot of snow. Since its not too far from Prague, I decided it would be a great place to go for the day. There were three ways for us to get to the top. Either we could walk to the top, take a ski lift and walk 2km, or take a closed cable car straight to the top. We wanted to walk a bit, so we decided to take the ski lift up. It was the best decision because we got to go up at a nice pace and see everything. We were the only ones on the whole ski lift. When we finally got to the top, there was fog and we couldn't really see anything. I was so happy we didn't walk to the top because I would've been so disappointed with the fog. I am VERY happy we didn't take the cable car up because it was going so fast to the top and it was PACKED FULL with people (not the best thing right now considering we are level 5 of the covid scale for CZ). It was a great day and I would definitely got again in the summer to enjoy the view from the top.

First Snow Day of 2021

This past Wednesday I went from Praha to Ricany and there was a HUGE difference. When I left Praha there wasn't any snow. When I was in the train I saw a tiny bit of snow in the outer parts of Praha. As soon as I got to Ricany, it was pure white. There was snow everywhere. It was so beautiful. It snowed even more overnight, so when I woke up there was snow everywhere. I had to even shovel some snow in the garden. I went for a nice walk in the forest and took many beautiful pictures of the snow. It really was a wonderful sight to see at home. I didn't need to travel 2 hours to see the snow, it was literally in my backyard. Now I am waiting for there to be a proper snow day in Praha so I can get some pictures of the city covered in snow. Hopefully it will happen this year!
