La Piojera

My friends wanted to go to La Piojera, so I decided to join them. Wow, tonight was a VERY crowded night. I have never seen it so crowded, but it's the first Friday of September, so everyone was out and about. I decided t just have one terremoto (an alcoholic cocktail) because my friend helped me enter a contest for a free ticket for a music concert in the snow and we WON!!! So, I must wake up early in the morning to get ready, so I figured one cocktail was enough for me. I had a lot of fun though meeting some great new people!!

welcoming couchsurfing meeting

The weather in Santiago has been very beautiful this week. The trees are in bloom and there are flowers everywhere. It's so nice to see that spring is finally here and the cold wintery days are gone. I went to the weekly couch surfing meeting again and it was great. I met some really nice people. I noticed that the meeting was not friendly for new travelers so some Venezuelans and I decided to be the welcoming crew and greeted the obvious newcomers. It was great!

couchsurfing meeting santiago

It has been a while since I have been to a couch surfing meeting so I decided that I should go and check it out. It was great to meet some new people and really practice my spanish. Thanks to those who participated! Most likely I will go to the meeting again next week!

food truck festival

There was a food truck festival this past weekend in Santiago so I decided to check it out. I went on Friday and there were no lines at all. And there was also so much space for you to walk around and sit at the tables. Sunday was a whole different story. There was even a line just to get IN the event and the lines for the food trucks were soon long!!! But, I was able to hang out with some friends and meet new ones so overall it was nice.

quick reunion

A friend of mine had a very short trip to Santiago for a competition. It had been 9 years since we saw each other. The last time was when we were studying abroad in South Africa. We didn't have much time to catch up but it was great to exchange stories on what we have been doing the past 9 years. I wish you the best of luck and it was great to catch up again.
