Nuremburg Christmas Market (Germany)

I have been wanting to go to a Christmas market in Germany and Leoš wanted to go to the Christmas market in Nuremburg, so it was an easy choice.  The Christmas market in Nuremburg is the largest Christmas market in Central Europe and one of the oldest in the world. There were so many people at the market. Parking was a bit difficult, but in the end we finally got a spot.  I immediately got a bratwurst when we entered the market. There were several markets next to each other.  There was a children's market, the main market and an international market with stands from different countries.  We got a cup of hot blueberry wine which was really nice.  I wanted a Christmas cup as a souvenir, but didn't really like the one I got because it didn't say Nuremburg on it.  I saw a man that was going to return several cups and he had one that I liked, so I traded him the cup I had so he could get the refund.  Leoš wanted to try the steamed dumpling with custard and cherries.  It was nice, but I do not know if I would get it again.  However, the GIANT gingerbread dipped in chocolate was DELICIOUS.  It took us a week to finish it. After the market we went to a restaurant that was in the Michelin guide.  The food was great and it was a nice way to finish the day.  It was such a great day!

Beautiful Snow

There was so much snow before Christmas that a lot of people were convinced that we would finally have a nice white Christmas.  Unfortunately almost all of it melted in Prague and Ricany just before for Christmas.  So many of my students were quite disappointed.  It was beautiful when it lasted though.

Christmas Cookie Exchange!!!

A few years ago I came up with the idea of a cookie exchange around Christmas time.  I wanted to do it with the cooking club I am a part of in Prague, but it didn't really work out.  This past Halloween I went to an event with a lot of international women and I told them about my idea for a cookie exchange and a lot of the ladies told me they would be interested in joining.  Since the response was good, I decided to organize it this year.  A lot of planning was required and in the end it turned out quite nice.  In the future I will not plan it with prizes because there were also a lot of women that were not reliable.  However, I am still happy with the turn out and with everyone who managed to come.  It was a fun afternoon of cookies and fun.  I was so busy that I completely forgot to take photos of the ladies wearing my glasses!! Oops, I guess next time!  The next event I will organize will be Galentine's Day.

Walk Around Prague

I needed to catch up with my friend, so we decided to walk around the city and enjoy the Christmas spirit around the city.  We got to try strawberry and blueberry hot wine.  My strawberry wine was absolutely amazing.  The blueberry wine was nice, but still needed a bit of sugar.  It was a nice afternoon.
