Walk around Gothenburg, Sweden

Since my friend was busy all weekend with work and assignments, she designated two of her friends to show me around the city.  They were my "babysitters" for the day.  First we started off the day by going to an antique store so I could find some jewelry to buy.  Then we went for tea at one of the ladies' apartment.  Next we tried some DELICIOUS salmon chunks.  They were seriously good!!!!  Then we went for a stroll to check out some typical Swedish summer homes.  Next we went to a free outdoor type "zoo" for animals local to the area.  I got to see some moose, so that was cool!  Then we went to the Natural History Museum where I got to see the only stuffed blue whale in the world.  That was really trippy.  Back in the day, the mouth would open up and people could go inside the whale.  Nowadays the whale is only open for special occasions, like for Christmas when Santa will actually be inside the whale welcoming kids and for voting day.  Then we walked around the Botanical Garden which was really nice.  To end the day we went to a bar to relax.  It was such a great day and I got to see a lot! Thanks for everything my babysitters!!!  (photos are a bit out of order...first are my cell phone photos and then my camera photos)

Gotenburg, Sweden (day 1)

I took a bus from Oslo, Norway to Gothenburg, Sweden.  The start of the bus ride was picturesque.  It was just a 3.5 hour bus ride and it only cost 10 euros with Flixbus.  Once I got to Gothenburg, I met my friend (whom I actually met in Japan last year while she was visiting) at the bus terminal and then walked to her work to drop off my stuff.  Map in hand, I explored Gothenburg and was pleasantly surprised.  I got a lot of free samples and stuff by just walking around the city.  Then I found myself in the middle of some kind of European Horse riding Championship.  Then I met up with my friend again to move my stuff to her place before heading out for the night.  I got to meet several of her friends whom were all very nice and had a chill night relaxing outdoors.  (*since its been a couple weeks since I met you, if I have made a mistake with your nationality, please put it in the comments.  Sorry and thanks)

bike around Oslo, Norway

The weather was really nice in Oslo, so I decided it would be nice to bike around the city.  I was lucky enough to meet someone who was a bit more familiar with Oslo and was free to show me around.  We biked around the city and got to enjoy some great views of the city.  The blue skies looked so nice at the waterfront.  Later in the evening I went to a weekly couchsurfing meeting.  I met some great people and had a good time chatting.  The next day the weather wasn't the best, so I went to the National Gallery.  It was very nice.  Later in the evening, I finally got to meet up with my former roommate from university.  The last time we saw each other was 13 years ago!!!! Time flies and she looks exactly the same!!!! It was really to catch up and discuss what we have done since the time we lived together at UCSB.  Until next time Fay!!!!  (But it better be sooner than in 13 years!!!!)
