Laughter Lounge Prague, Czech Republic

My friend was the MC for a comedy event called the Laughter Lounge at the pub California Republic. Overall it was a pretty funny event and I got to meet some new people. I even got a new nationality for my blog, Uganda! It was a great night. Thanks for the laughs!

Prague Film Festival and Ice Skating (CZ)

I was checking out events in Praha and I came across a Film Festival. I told my friend about it, so she joined me. We went on the first day of the event and the lack of people really was shocking. There were probably less than 20 people present. The first 4 short films were pretty good and then there was an intermission. The last film for the day was a documentary from USA and it was too long and bad. I really hated how they did the last part of the documentary. I would NOT recommend watching it. Afterwards my friend and I joined an ice skating event in Lenta. I had been ice skating in the past in Praha, but I never made it to Letna, so I really wanted to check it out. The ice skating rink was a great size and there were a lot of people there. Entry to the ice rink was free, you just needed to pay for skates if you didn't have them. I paid 100 czk for the rental of the ice skates and had to give a deposit. It was a really fun activity and I am glad I went. I will definitely go again this year!!

Snow Day Happy New Year (Czech Republic)

There was a lot of snow fall in the first week of the year. The snow stuck in the village but not in Praha. I decided to make a cute snowgirl with my glasses. Then I decided to walk around in the forest and take photos of the beauty. It really seemed like I was in a winter wonderland. My favorite photo from the day was the picture I took of the sheep that had just had its face in the snow. It is absolutely adorable. It really was wonderful to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Free Walking Tour Amsterdam, Netherlands

The last time I was in Amsterdam was in 2012. I was there for 10 days and had a wonderful time. On my way back to the Czech Republic I had an 8 hour layover in Amsterdam. I was really looking forward to just wandering around the city. When I arrived, I put my carry on luggage in storage for just 6 euros. Then I got a return ticket from the airport to Amsterdam Central station for 9.60 euros. It was a bit of a gloomy day and it felt quite cold because I was used to the warm weather in California. I walked around and got to the main square. Then I saw people holding umbrellas for tours. The last time I was in Amsterdam I didn't go on a walking tour and I was a bit too tired to just wander around by myself because I didn't sleep on the flight from Los Angeles. I joined the free walking tour and it was nice. There were a lot of people and I wasn't sure if I had the energy to take people's photos but after walking around I woke up a bit and was able to take a few photos. The tour actually lasted a bit more than 3 hours and I needed to leave before it was over to catch my flight. It was the perfect way to spend my long layover. I definitely would like to visit again for longer than a couple hours!
