Last Day in Japan

When I was booking hotels for our trip, I made sure that the last place we stayed at would have luggage storage. Our flight was at 10pm, so we really needed to make sure we could leave our luggage somewhere.  The hotel was also on the same line as the airport, so it was really convenient.  We checked out of our room at 10am and made our way to the city.  We had to find a part of the city that we hadn't discovered yet.  We decided to go to Korean Town.  We couldn't believe how cheap the street food was and how cheap our lunch was.  We saw a bunch of people waiting in front of a restaurant and we were curious what was going on.  There was a sign in front of the restaurant that had a special promotion of the day that the first 30 people would get a bowl of cold noodles for 300 yen ($2). We couldn't believe it.  It was the first time on the trip that we both got the same meal.  After walking around and doing some shopping, we found another market area to do some more shopping.  Finally, it was time to get back to the hotel.  It started to pour and we didn't have our umbrellas.  Luckily, the restaurant we wanted to go to was just across the street.  We got completely drenched, but at least we got to eat.  By the time we finished eating dinner, the rain had stopped.  We got back to the hotel and headed to the airport.  We had no idea, but our flight from Tokyo to Helsinki flew over the North Pole!!!!!!  They didn't make an announcement, but I did see a bunch of people open the window at a certain time and I got a peak of it.  It must of been the time we were over the North Pole.  Before we landed the airline gave us a diploma of flying over the North Pole.  We arrived a bit late to Helsinki, so we missed our flight to Prague.  They put us on a later flight.  Luckily, 20 minutes before the departure of our next flight I put in my Czech sim card in my phone and got a message from the airline company saying that we each had 17 euros on our boarding pass to use at the airport for food because of the missed flight connection. We didn't have time to eat anything at the airport, so I just used it to get a bunch of food to go.  Our trip to Japan was quite short but we managed to do a LOT!  I'm quite surprised with all the things we were able to do.  We walked over 200km in just 15 days including the day we arrived and the 2 days we took the Shinkansen which means we really walked a lot on the full days we had.  It was such a great trip and I can't wait until the next time we visit!
