concha y toro castillo de diablo

My parents are here visiting me in Santiago. It has been a bit stressful trying to figure out activities for every single day they are here, but so far I have done a good job. The day they arrived we went to the general cemetery. On their second day we went to the Concha y Toro vineyard. It was a wonderful vineyard with a great tour. The area was quite impressive. My parents and I had a great time.

mendoza, argentina 2nd time around

The last time I went to Mendoza was last year. Since they stop having overnight buses to Mendoza starting from June 1st, I decided that I needed to go this past weekend because my parents will be arriving this weekend. The weather couldn't have been better. It was so nice and I was able to catch up with some people I know. It was really good to see a lot of places that I have never been to. I was lucky to have such a great friend show me around and I didn't do the normal stuff that all tourists do when they go to Mendoza. Thanks for everything! I had a wonderful weekend.

weekend fun

On Friday I had some time so I showed two kiwis around Santiago. We first went to Santa Lucia, then La Vega for some juice and lunch, and then we finished the day off by going to the cemetery. We were able to spot 3 pyramids. Its crazy how the best architecture in the city is actually in the cemetery. Then on Saturday night my friend had a combined birthday bbq celebration on his rooftop. The party next to my friend's had a Colombian band come to play. It was a lot of fun. Then on Sunday, my friend and I went to parque bicentenario to look at the united buddy bears. It was really cool to see all the different designs of the bears. Some countries were really impressive, while others.....not so much. Sunday was such a beautiful and sunny day. A perfect mother's day for those who celebrated. Unfortunately I couldn't celebrate with my mother, however I will see both her and my father in 10 days. Happy Mother's Day to my mom and all those other numerous amazing mothers!
