walk around Praha and CS meeting

The weather was really nice, so I decided to go into the city and walk around.  I went all over the place.  It was good to see all the sights again.  It didn't feel as cold as it was last January, which made me very happy.  Since I was already in the city, I decided to check out the weekly Thursday meeting for CS.  The location for the weekly meeting changed since I was in Prague a couple months ago.  I was a bit sad that it wasn't at the regular place I knew.  However, I am not active enough of a member to organize a weekly meeting. It was good to meet some new people and give advice to some travelers, until next time......

A Maze in Tchaiovna Prague, Czech Republic

I saw that there was a free comedy show in Prague, so I decided that I should go into the city and check it out.  The show was at 8pm.  I wanted to go a bit earlier and go to one of my favorite tea houses in Prague, A Maze in Tchaiovna.  There are lots of secret doors that you can go through to discover other rooms.  I met with some people for a quick drink and then made my way to the comedy show.  The comedy show was packed!! It was pretty hard to talk to anyone besides the person who was sitting by me.  There were four comedians that performed.  The last person was supposed to be the headliner, but I actually thought that the first comedian from Kazakhstan was the funniest.  His jokes were pretty funny and he did a good job delivering them.  I'll try to go to the next comedy show if I can.  On Sunday, I met with my friend and had a great stroll in the woods with the beautiful snow.  It was such a nice sight to see.  Far different to the beaches I was at 10 days ago in the Dominican Republic........but at least its pretty!

Last day in Dominican Republic

For my last day in the Dominican Republic, I was lucky enough to visit two gorgeous beaches.  They were much better to swim in than the beaches in Punta Cana.  The first beach I went to was Macao Beach and the second was Bayahibe.  The two beaches didn't have algae and it was so nice to swim. I ate well the whole day too, which was great.  It was a wonderful way to end my great time in the Dominican Republic.  Thanks to everyone who made my time great!!

back in Dominican Republic

I was so relieved to cross the border back into the Dominican Republic.  This is when we got our food on the bus, our drinks and WIFI.  There was a bit of traffic getting into the capital city, but I didn't mind.  I was back in a country where I could communicate on my own and travel by myself without any fear.  It was so great to see my friends again.  We played Uno the first night and it was so funny how competitive the game became.  I never heard so much trash talk while playing cards, it was great!  The next day, I went with my friend to a whole other part of the city and it only cost 15 pesos!! What a bargain!  Then we went to a mall and chilled while it rained most of the afternoon.  While looking at my guidebook, it mentioned that the Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo was a great area.  I decided to check it out.  Since I went by myself, I didn't want to show that I had much stuff with me, so I wasn't able to take that many photos.  However, I have to say that the Colonial Zone reminded me of Cuba and it was the best area in Santo Domingo.  There were lots of interesting things to see and it was so picturesque.  If you ever get to the Dominican Republic, you MUST go to the Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo!  The next day I took the bus early in the morning to make sure that I could enjoy the beach.  I was able to meet up with a friend I met the first time I was in Punta Cana. It was a relaxing day to be at the beach.  While relaxing I decided to take a dip while my friend took a nap.  The area of water that I entered happened to be in the middle of a game.  I was suddenly included and it was fun.  Canadians are always so friendly and welcoming no matter where they are in the world.  After the game they even bought my friend and I a drink.  Oh course I needed to get their photos.
