Weekly CS Thursday meeting (prague)

Yesterday, I went to a teahouse with some couch surfers and after the teahouse closed we walked to the pub, Krakora, that hosts the weekly thursday couch surfing meeting. I try to go to the meeting when I can because after the first time I attended the meeting 4 years ago, I came up with the idea for my blog.   Also, its nice to check out the resident puma.  :)

teahouse, dinner and ice skating (prague, cz)

On Monday, I met up with some couch surfers at a teahouse.  After tea, I went to a friend's house to help make dinner.  Then on Tuesday I did a little bit of walking around the city and some ice skating.  My favorite thing in Prague during the winter are the free ice skating rinks that are around the city.  It only costs 100czk ($4) to rent the skates for one hour.  It was a lot of fun!

Prague Solidarity Rally with the Women's March on Washington

Today at 12pm the Prague Solidarity Rally with the Women's March on Washington took place at Vaclavske Namesti. Over 600 cities around the world wanted to show their support to those who marched in Washington. A couple of my friends took part in that march, so it was nice for me to attend something that was supporting them. The turn out at the rally was pretty good considering how cold it was.  It was absolutely freezing!  There were so many great speakers and the rally was a peaceful one, which was wonderful.  Violence is not the answer and its important for people to be able to speak their minds and not have to worry about getting punished for it.  Some people made puppets of Trump and Putin that were impressive.  The tweet written on Trump's phone was quite good.  There were lots of great signs, so I decided to walk around and take photos of some of them with the people holding them.  I wanted to get more photos, but my camera's battery died.  So, if I didn't get a chance to take your photo with your sign, I'm sorry.   At the end of the rally there was a great band that played that got everyone moving after standing in the cold for so long.  Thanks for everyone's participation.  It was a great rally!
