On New Years eve I met with a couch surfer and we walked around Sousse. At night I met up with other couch surfers and we went to a lounge to celebrate the New Year. It was definitely something different, but fun. We had a meal that consisted of several courses (but some of the food was really terrible!) then a band played some traditional music and then a dj played music while everyone danced in the bar. On New Years Day I was supposed to go to Nabuel with a couch surfer but apparently he was too sick to travel. So, luckily I was able to meet up with another couch surfer and we walked again all over Sousse. We met quite a few of his friends while walking around the city. Then we went to a cafe by the sea and his fellow communist party members were at the cafe so we sat with them. It was the most random New Year's Day ever. I had fresh squeezed orange juice, shared a shisha for less then $2 and hung out with members of a communist party. Everyone was quite nice. It was a nice and relaxing day.
