Iceland Day 1

My visit to Iceland was monumental for me because it was my 100th country!!!  I wanted to go somewhere cool for my 100, so I decided I should go to Iceland.  I wanted to go last year, but it didn't work out.  This year I did a lot of research and found the cheapest for me to travel to Iceland was from Budapest.  I was able to get a ticket for 100 euros r/t.   Flying there I was really lucky and was able to have 3 seats all to myself, so I was able to have a nice sleep before arriving.  At the car rental there were lots of issues because Economy Bookings told me that I could use a debit card for my car rental, but when I arrived to the rental car place in Iceland, they told me I couldn't rent the car with a debit card.  The only way they would rent me the car was to charge me for a lot of extras.  I paid more than double the amount I expected to pay.  I just wanted to get on the road, so I paid the difference and was on my way.  I traveled with two others so that helped with some of the cost of the car, but I still paid a LOT more then the others.   We got to check out a couple waterfalls on the first day.  The views were amazing, but it rained pretty much all day.  Then we ended the day with cooking out of the back of the car and sleeping it in.  I was exhausted from all the driving, but sleeping in the car that first night was a bit difficult with how cold it was.

CS Hike Praha, CZ

There was a hike organized near Jinonice metro station.  I looked at the timing of the event and it worked out perfectly for the transportation from the village.  There were around 40 people signed up for the hike and I thought that maximum only around 20 people would show up. I was wrong, just over 30 people joined the hike, which is a LOT for a hike.  Ten minutes into the hike, I realized it was the same hike I went on the previous year and with the same organizer. The weather was perfect and there were a lot of nice people on the hike.  The views were great and we actually went on a different route than last year.  This year the hike was much better.  Special thanks to the organizer who does this every year, even though he lives in Germany!  And of course thanks to those who participated in my blog.  Hope you all had a great time!!
