Cs hangout in Prague (teahouse)

I didn't have any plans for the day, so I decided to check out the hangout part of the couch surfing application.  Since it was a cold day, I thought it would be a great idea to hang out at a teahouse.  I managed to get a couple people to the teahouse and we had a wonderful time hanging out.  We also did some shisha.  The first one was kiwi strawberry and then the next mix we did was apricot cherry.  It was a nice way to end the day.  Thanks for coming guys!

last night in tokyo....flight from tokyo to prague

For my last night in Tokyo a friend and I decided to check out the Christmas market at Hibiya park.  There was a real German feel to the market.  A band that was performing there even played a German song.  Then we saw the Godzilla statue that is near the park.  We walked to a lot of different places to check out the Christmas lights.  The lights were quite impressive and very beautiful.  The next day I had to wake up early in order to catch my flight back to the Czech Republic.  The first flight from Tokyo to Warsaw was very empty, it was wonderful!  LOT airlines is doing a special thing for Christmas where they give passengers Christmas cards to fill out for the next passengers.  I guess they were just starting it because I didn't get a card, I just had to fill one out.  On the card I put the information for my blog, so hopefully the person who got my card will comment on my blog.  Then the next flight from Warsaw to Prague was quite full, but I was lucky enough to have an extra seat next to me.  When we landed in Prague the flight attendant said "Welcome to Copenhagen".  I was a bit confused, but I knew for sure they would not let me be on the flight if that was the situation.  So, as I was getting off the plane, I joked with the flight attendant saying "Copenhagen??"  She said, "Yes, where else would we be if we are not in Copenhagen?"  Then I got a bit nervous and asked "Where are we???"  Luckily a passenger behind me said "We are in Prague".  That made me feel much better, but the flight attendant was still very confused and thought we were in Copenhagen. hahahaha!

last weekend in Tokyo

After work on Thursday I met up with some couch surfers.  We went for dinner, drinks and then shisha.   Then on Friday, after work I met up with some other couch surfers whom I met a month ago.  It was nice to catch up with them.  We went to a bar in Ginza, 300Bar, where all the drinks were 300 yen.  It was fun.  They invited me to go with them to a Christmas party at a bar in Ebisu the next day.  I decided to join them and before I knew it, we did an all-nighter.  I haven't done it this time around while in Japan, so why not on my last weekend.  It was a great night!!

Reunions/ cop cars/ autumn leaves

A friend that I haven't seen in three years came back to Tokyo just to visit.  I was happy that with her packed and busy schedule she was able to see me twice!  We went to check out the Christmas lights in Ginza and while doing so, I noticed an old cop car.  I approached the guy and he had a California Highway Patrol jacket!!!!! (my home state!)  He told me that his company rents unusual cars for movies and the cop car shown below was actually used in a movie that Tom Cruise was filming here in Tokyo two weeks prior.  So, I was in the same car as him, cool!  Then on another day I went to Shinjuku Park and got to see all the beautiful autumn leaves.  They were absolutely stunning!!! Much different to the time that my mother and I went to the park.  And luckily I was able to catch up with my friend, Michelle, whom I met while I was teaching in South Korea.  The cool thing is that she was with me when I bought these historical glasses that I use for this blog.  She helped me decide which pair to get and she was shocked with the amount of people I have had wearing my glasses.  It was so great to catch up with friends I haven't seen in years!~!

Ueno park and Okonomiyaki

Today at work we were given 30 extra minutes to our normal one hour lunch break.  A co-worker and I took advantage of that time and decided to wander around Ueno park.  It was a gorgeous winter day and the fall colors were awesome.  It was so great to see a lot of new things at Ueno park that I haven't seen before.  After work I met with other colleagues for okonomiyaki.  It was delicious and the women who worked there were so nice.  When we left one of the women actually gave us lollipops, haha!
