Walk around and CS meeting (back in CZ)

I had to meet with a friend for lunch in Praha and had some time afterwards, so I met with a couch surfer and walked around with her showing her some interesting places.  Later we meet up with more couch surfers and went to a karaoke event.  Unfortunately I had to leave early because I had to catch the last bus back to the village.  It was fun though and I'll try to go to another one in the future.

Giftun snorkeling trip #2 (Egypt) 8000!!!!

I still had some extra money, so I decided that I needed to do an activity on my last day.  I really wanted to go diving again, but you're not supposed to dive so soon before a flight.  My flight was early the next day, so diving was out of the question.  Since it was going to be a beautiful day, I decided to go on the same snorkeling trip I went on the week before.  The boat was different and so was the crew except one person.  While heading out a mistake was discovered with a mother and daughter.  They were supposed to be on another trip, but were sent on the wrong boat.  There was much discussion and their tour agency promised them that they would get to do their correct tour the next day.  I really hope the agency kept their word!!!  Anyways, the views underwater were spectacular like the other trips I went on.  However, I didn't get to see the giant moray eel like I did the first time.  On this snorkeling trip the order of the stops were much better.  We got to relax on the island at the end of the trip instead of the beginning on the trip.  It was much better this way.   It was a nice way to end my 2 week trip in Egypt.  I was able to do so many more activities than I ever thought possible on this trip (diving for the first time ever!!) and buy lots of cool stuff. I tried lots of new and delicious foods and the best part was meeting so many cool people.  Thanks for everything! I will never forget this trip and I am sure I will go back to Egypt.  Plus now I have over 8000 people wearing my glasses!!!!!!!!!

Friday with the girls (Egypt)

In Egypt, Fridays and Saturdays are the weekend.  Since my friends had to work during the week, I was able to meet them on Fridays.  They invited me to go over to one of their homes for breakfast.  They had a HUGE layout of food.  It was amazing and so very good!  It was very nice to not have breakfast at the hotel and to have it at a home.  The last thing on the menu was honey toast.  It was absolutely delicious!!!!  We call is Yasmine's Toast (because she came up with it).  She fries up a piece of white bread in butter and then spreads a healthy serving of honey on top of it.  It is seriously heaven!!!!  If I was in Egypt longer I would request it every Friday!  After breakfast we started to watch Lalaland.  It was good, but it was such a sunny day and one of my last days, so we didn't finish it and went out to do some shopping.  I had some extra money so I bought a pair of sandals, two silver pendants, some very delicious Egyptian desserts and a purse.  For dinner we went to Sarah's house.  Her mother cooked an amazing meal!!!  I was completely stuffed. Everything was delicious!!  Thank you so very much for your hospitality!!!!

Cairo: The PYRAMIDS (Egypt)

Ever since I was a little girl I had always dreamed of seeing the pyramids.  I remember a project that I had to do in elementary school.  We had to make a pyramid and put all the things we would want to have in the afterlife.  I remember that I put in a tennis court and some jewels, but not really sure what else I put in it.  I was always fascinated with Egyptian history and wanted to see all the artifacts in real life instead of  just the books.  Since, I was able to find a very good deal for Egypt (less than $600 roundtrip ticket from Praha, transfer from airport to hotel, 14 nights at a hotel next to the beach...all inclusive) I had to go.  I really wasn't sure what I was going to do for all the 14 days, but one thing for sure was that I was going to see the pyramids.  A friend of mine helped me get a good deal for a day trip to Cairo.  The first stop on the tour was the Egypt Museum Cairo.  It was amazing to see a lot of artifacts.  The guide told us that since there are so many artifacts in the museum, its actually impossible to see all the contents and that he would show us some of the more important artifacts.  We got to see King Tut's golden mask and all his treasures!  It was absolutely incredible!!! After the museum, we finally got to see the thing everyone goes to Egypt to see, the PYRAMIDS!!! It was mind-blowing to see that they are so close to the city!!!  We were able to see them from the bus through some buildings.  It was so strange to see modern buildings with such ancient, important structures.   Then we got to finally stand next to the pyramids and take in the sheer enormity of them. It was so impressive.  When we first arrived the clouds parted ways for the sun to come out for a bit.  However, the clouds came back and it even started to rain!!!!!  Rain??!!!! In Egypt?? It was quite eery to have pictures of the pyramids with dark clouds.  We got to go inside a pyramid and see what it was like.  We actually had to go down a slope, and not walk straight in.  It was quite interesting.  After the pyramids we went to a perfume factory and smelled lots of amazing perfumes.  Then we went back to Hurghada.  The whole trip was 23 hours from the time they picked me up until they dropped me off!!!  It was quite tiring, but so worth it.  I had a wonderful day finally fulfilling a life long dream.
