Olomouc and Ostrava

Since we were close enough to Olomouc and Ostrava, we decided it would be nice to visit the 2 cities.  The old town in Olomouc was really nice and there was an Easter market taking place.  We got to enjoy much better prices there compared to Praha.  The city's main clock was quite beautiful and had activity going on while the clock struck a new hour.  The "show" was much longer than the clock in Praha.  After a wonderful walk of sight seeing in Olomouc, we made our way to Ostrava.  The sight that people see the most in the city is the abandoned factory.  It was huge and it was really interesting to be able to see it up close.  We decided not to go on the tour because Leos already had been on the tour and it would've been for 2 hours. The weather was really nice and it was a great weekend.

Poland for the Day (Klodzko)

Since we were so close to the border we decided to have a day trip into Poland.  The two times I have been to Poland I have gone to Wroclaw, so we decided to check out a smaller and closer city, Klodzko.  We randomly found a Uranium mine, so we decided to check it out.  We were the last ones to arrive for the tour, so the guide didn't inform us about how we could listen to the information in English.  Since Polish is a bit similar to Czech, Leos was able to slightly understand what was being said during the tour.  It was really crazy to see all the minerals inside the mine.  We even got to see a radio active rock.  The guide pulled out his meter and when he put it next to the rock, it started to go off.  Also we got to see some of the items that were made with uranium.  They all glowed under the black light.  Next we decided to go to walk around the city center.  Then we went for lunch and the lunch was amazing!!! The food was delicious and the prices were not bad at all.  After lunch we went to Mini Euroland to see popular European sights made as miniatures to fit in a park.  Then we decided to go back to our accommodation in the Czech Republic and go for a walk to the viewing tower that was nearby.  We had to walk in a bit of snow to get there.  Walking up and down the tower was bit scary due to the high wind speeds.  Then we found a really nice shelter and hung out there for a bit.  We were worried about day light, so we had to head back to the accommodation.  It was a great day.   (photos are a bit out of order)
