Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

After a couple of days relaxing on the beach in Punta Cana, I took a bus to Santo Domingo (the capital of the Dominican Republic).  Things were much cheaper here than they were in Punta Cana.  It was great to walk around the city and see different things.  One night I walked to the Malecon along the ocean and the other day I walked to the botanical garden.  I was even able to get the local price because I was able to blend in with my skin tone and good Spanish accent, haha!  Randomly I was able to go to a showing of a short film that won some international awards.  It was a great film and the producer is actually from New York, but moved to the Dominican Republic when she was in her teens.  It was a great chance to meet a bunch of different people and get their photos.  I had a great time in Santo Domingo.
