Before going on our trip to Paris, my student told me about a very beautiful Starbucks she saw on Instagram. She told me that if I had time, I should check it out. We didn't have set plans for our last full day in Paris, so we decided to make our way to the Starbucks my student told me about. We actually had blue skies, so we definitely wanted to walk through the city. We stopped by a bakery to get a lemon meringue tart, which was very very good. Then we continued on in the city and found several shopping passages that looked quite nice. We got to the opera house and looked for the Starbucks. We couldn't find it according to one location on Google Maps. I asked a guard and he told me that we needed to walk along another road. We had passed by the Starbucks, but I didn't think it was the location because from the outside it didn't look that special. As soon as we entered we saw it. It was beautiful. It looked like a palace with the gold finishing and paintings on the walls. It was definitely the most beautiful Starbucks I had ever been to. The drinks were standard price and since it was around lunch time, they had a special deal for lunch. 10 euros for a drink, sandwich and dessert. I decided to get the deal because the drink itself was 6.40 euros. The hot chocolate I had was not good at all, but luckily the sandwich and muffin were fine. Then we walked to the famous Arc and walked along Champs Elysees street. We finished our day with a very French meal that consisted of onion soup, frog legs, beef bourguignon, and crème brulee. The next morning we had to wake up VERY early to take a bus and metro to the shuttle that would take us to the airport. I was able to get a whole row to myself which was great because after we got back to Prague, both Leos and I had to go to work. In the end it was a nice short weekend getaway, but its going to be a long time until we go back to Paris. We both preferred the French Riveria to Paris.
