day in sydney

I saw that there was a dragon boat race for the Chinese New Year in Sydney, so I decided that I wanted to make a trip into the city.  The weather wasn't the best when I first arrived, but by the end of the day it was gorgeous.  I was even able to meet up with a friend that I hadn't seen for 4 years.  I first met her while we were both teaching english in South Korea and then we caught up in Barcelona, Spain.  I met her fiance and some friends.  We walked a lot around the city and saw lots of different things.  It was a great day!

My friend wanted to go out, so we went to Steyne.  One of the bartenders was racist and thought my friend had drank too much and wouldn't serve her any alcohol.  She was completely sober.........  It's just that english isn't her first language (even though she is completely fluent) and they couldn't understand each other.  I tried telling him that and he told me to calm down.  It was ridiculous.  We were given water......  I should've tried taking more photos of people, but I was a bit lazy.  It was an alright night.

farewell bbq at shelly beach

My friend got a job in France, so she decided to have a farewell bbq at Shelly Beach.  There is no place better to have a farewell bbq.  It was such a beautiful day.  Best of luck with your future in France!!

I was able to find a place near Shelly beach.  It's so nice because now it takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the beach from my place now.  My housemate had a couchsurfer stay at the place.  At night we went to the beach to play some volleyball and met a group that was near the volleyball courts.  I was able to get a lot of photos because of them.   I definitely would like to play some more volleyball at the beach.  It was a nice and relaxing night.

walk from manly to curl curl

One of my favorite walks in Manly is from Manly to North Curl Curl.  Since I did those walks so much I remembered all the little secrets on the walk.  In particular there is one place that is an amazing place to take pics from.  It looks like you are sitting on a very thin rock just above the water.  If you walk onto the rock from one side it doesn't look to bad, but for the photographer it looks pretty scary.  Because I did the walk by myself, I needed some help to get the photos done for me.  I saw some ladies close to the spot and asked them for help.  They were kind enough to help out. Thanks ladies!!

I have been lucky enough that some of the friends I had last time I lived in Manly are still here.  I was able to meet my friend's new friends and of course become friends with them now.  We had a wonderful salmon dinner courtesy of a kind friend who cooked for all of us.  It was a very nice and relaxing friday.
