I went to Linz, Austria for the weekend to visit my friend, Amy. It had been 6 years since I saw her. We first met teaching English in Gangneung, South Korea 10 years ago!! (I can't believe its been that long!!) We also met up in Taiwan, California and Nevada in USA. This was the first time in a long time that we were living close to each other (4 hour bus ride), so I decided I needed to catch up with her before I go back to Japan. On the way to Linz, the bus was completely empty (well besides one other person). When I arrived to Linz, I met up with Amy and her husband. We walked around the city and I got to try some local food. At night we went to a Balkan club with her husband's friends. The next day, we went to Česky Krumlov (Czech Republic). The funny thing is that even though its in the Czech Republic, it was much closer going there from Linz then my village. The views were really nice and I had a great time. The next day Amy and I walked all over Linz. We went to a beautiful cathedral and then a great look out point. Then on Tuesday we went to the Haribo factory. For me that is what Linz should be known for instead of their torte. There were so many kinds that we had never seen before. I was able to enjoy Amy's wonderful cooking during my stay. I was lucky enough to enjoy lots of different kinds of cuisine at her house. Thank you so much for the hospitality and I hope I will see you again soon!
