This New Year celebration was a lot quieter than what I am used to. For the first time since I was a kid, I just stayed home with my boyfriend to ring in the New Year. Here is Czech Republic there is a curfew from 9pm-5am. Since we couldn't be outside, we decided to watch New Year's celebrations from around the world on YouTube. We clinked glasses every hour, so that was fun. At midnight we were not able to really see any fireworks because there is a hill quite close by and it was blocking our view. My boyfriend made a really nice garlic spread to put on our open sandwiches. For lunch we had lentils for luck of money for the new year (Czech tradition). Then we had a nice walk around the city. I saw two men feeding a bunch of nutria. I was able to get quite close to them and even throw my glasses in a picture. The next day we went for a nice walk and were able to get nice hot white wine. At night I decided to make California Rolls for the first time in a LONG time. I'll need to make them more often to get better practice. I hope everyone had a safe, healthy and happy New Year! Let's all hope that 2021 will be much better than 2020.
