Lunch in the TV tower

For Galentine's Day, Laura gave me a lunch gift voucher for Leos and I.  We used it on a beautiful day.  There were blue skies and the view from the tower was awesome.  The food was absolutely delicious but unfortunately the service wasn't the best.  However, we didn't let that get into the way of a wonder lunch experience.  We had a salad to start and then had duck breast for our main.  We wanted a dessert because they looked beautiful, so we got one each.  Our second waiter was really nice and gave us our desserts for free because of the wait.  It was very generous of him. After we were done with our meals we went to the observatory level and enjoyed the view from all angles.  (Photos are not in order).

Galentine's Day+ 5 year Friendiversary

I  met Laura 5 years ago at my first Galentine's event.  I didn't really know what the holiday was about, but I still went.  Little did I know that I would make a true friend at that event and I would celebrate it every year afterwards.  This year we decided to just go to a cafe and celebrate our friendship of 5 years.  Maybe next year when things are better with covid I will create an event again.  We enjoyed sharing a sweet and a savory bubble waffle.  It was a nice brunch with a cocktail in hand.  Thanks for everything Laura!  In the evening Leos and I went to our friend's place for a nice Kenyan dinner.  It was such a nice day.  The next day, Valentine's Day, Leos surprised me with delicious sweets.  Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day!

Snowboarding in Klinovec

I wasn't having the best week, so I really wanted to do something on the weekend.  We have been wanting to go to the mountains to snowboard/ski so I thought it would be the perfect time to go.  We did a bit of research and figured the Klinovec would be the best location.  When we arrived to our accommodation it was snowing a LOT.  We got a room that had a small balcony and it was so great to enjoy the view the next morning before heading out to the slopes.  On the way to the mountain I saw a sign on a building and we decided to follow those directions.  It was a very good thing we did because we got to the mountain much quicker than we thought we would (less than a 15 min drive).  It had been 7 YEARS since that last time I went snowboarding.  The last time I went snowboarding was in the Andes Mountains in Chile.  At Klinovec it seemed that the main language was German.  There were so many Germans that were there, it was crazy.  I was a bit worried how I would be with snowboarding because its been so long since I last did it, but it was like riding a bike.  I was able to get up quickly and do the motions.  I was only able to leaf down the steep mountains but I think with more practice I should be able to do the proper way and get some more speed. By the end of the day my legs were on FIRE. However,  it was such a fun weekend, something I really really needed!
