Bustocena and Tie Dye

A student of mine told me about an old bus that sells interesting flavors of soft serve.  I checked on the map and it looked like a nice bike ride through the forest and a bit on the main road, so I thought I might as well give it a try.  It had been quite some time since I had biked through the forest, so I was happy with that.  The weather was nice and it was great to be on the bike again.  I got to the bus and sure enough, there were interesting flavors.  I saw cactus, so I went with it.  There was an option to mix it with another flavor, so I thought I might as well even though at the time I didn't know what the flavor was.  It was nice and sweet.  It was refreshing to have the soft serve on such a hot day.  I biked back home and relaxed on my hammock.  After the hammock was no longer in the sun, I decided to tie dye more fabrics, a t shirt and a sweatshirt.  It was a wonderful and relaxing day!

Table at the Castle

In the summer of 2020 there was an event on the Charles Bridge for a farewell to covid. There were tables that started from one end of the bridge to the other. The rest of the world laughed at the event because it wasn't true at all.  Covid lasted a much longer time.  Anyways, the same organizers for the event on the Charles Bridge decided to make an event around the castle.  The concept was the same.  Everyone who decided to join should bring their own drinks and food to share with their neighbors.  The event on the bridge felt a bit more inclusive and open.  Plus there were a LOT more people who joined that event.  The event at the castle didn't have much advertisement, but nonetheless it was still nice.  The event started in the evening and there weren't many tourists around.  It felt like a lot of locals were there and there was a band playing some old Czech songs.  The atmosphere was nice, but the evening was a bit chilly. Leoš and I stayed for just an hour, but had a nice time.  The president joined the event much earlier.  Unfortunately I missed my opportunity to meet him.  Hopefully one of these days I'll be able to get him to wear my glasses!

Festival of Embassies

The weekend was full of events.  First Leoš and I walked to Strahov to check out the bike event.  There were so many people and bikes ready to start the race.  After a quick walk around, we headed to the Festival of Embassies. There were sooooo many people at the event this year.  We went to the stand for Saudi Arabia just in time for a free plate of food.  The food was great and we ate it while we watched a mariachi band from Mexico play. We made our way to all the different stands and tried to get food we haven't seen at food festivals before.  Everything tasted great and it was nice to try all the different and unique flavors that were represented at the festival.  At the Thai stand I answered a question from a quiz and won a free 15 minute massage along with a cook book.  The next day Leos and I went to the Karlin food festival and I got to have matcha ice cream swirled with Thai ice tea ice cream.  The flavor combination was great!  It was a nice weekend full of different delicious flavors.
