The last time I was outside of the country was in August, when I was in France for summer holidays. The covid situation made it very hard to travel since I didn't want to have to be in quarantine if I went somewhere. On Saturday night, we saw that the restrictions for Germany had loosened and if you went for less than 12 hours you wouldn't need any paper work or tests. We decided to take advantage of the opportunity and just go. That is the reason we went to Teplice. We decided to go to Geising, a very small ski town, because it was just a 25 min drive from Teplice. If anything happened at the border we could easily turn around. However, nothing happened and we were easily able to get across the border. It was so nice to pass the Germany sign and just enter. As soon as we got to the Germany side we could see a huge difference in the houses and we felt like we were in Germany. It was so nice. The only downside was that it was a Sunday and everything is closed. Supermarkets, stores, restaurants, everything was closed. Luckily we found a small bakery and I was able to get a small piece of cake. the real thing I wanted to get was bratwurst, but I didn't have any luck with that. For lunch we had to get a kebab from the train station, because it was the only thing that was open. It was a nice couple of hours in Germany. Next time we go to Germany it will be on a Saturday so we can properly enjoy it.
