Beach Walk (CV)

Leoš really wanted to surf on the trip, so we walked to an area where there were the best waves on the island.  It was in a rocky area and it was VERY windy.  There were so many surfers in the area.  What made it so unique was the fact that there were 3 kinds of surfers all fighting for waves.  There were kite surfers, wind surfers and regular surfers.  I don't think I had ever seen all 3 in such a small area.  It was cool to see and watch the ride the waves.  We walked back to the hotel and decided to just relax at the pool.  After dinner we watched the show the hotel staff put on.

Walking Around Santa Maria (CV)

In the morning, we started the day at the pool with a dart tournament.  I was a close second, which was a shame because the winner got a backpack.  After the pool, we walked to Santa Maria.  We tried a delicious pudding at a local cafe.  I heard that there was nice street art in the city, so we walked around until we found it.  It was quite nice to see it.  Then we walked to the main beach to relax.  A street dog decided to hang out with me for a little bit.  We walked back to the hotel, but saw that we would finally be able to see a proper sunset, so we walked to the beach next to the hotel.  It was so nice to FINALLY see a sunset on the island.  When we went back to the hotel, we had dinner and then watched a show.

Lemon Shark and Scooter Ride (CV)

After breakfast, we quickly made our way to the sharks.  It was VERY easy to find the area because so many trucks were there.  We parked the scooter a bit further away from everyone else and walked into the water with our own water shoes.  We just walked to where everyone else was and found the sharks.  It was so cool to see them all over the area.  Leoš wanted to see the bigger sharks, so he walked a bit further into the waves.  He saw them and said his heart was beating faster when he saw the bigger shark.  I was happy with the smaller sharks.   After the sharks, we wanted to go to another location, but it was quite difficult on the scooter and the roads weren't the best.  We turned around and went to a nice view point for the area.  Then we went to some beautiful secluded beaches before returning the scooter.  We definitely made the best decision with renting the scooter.  It was so nice to be on a scooter again and to go on our own and see what we wanted to see.  We walked back to the hotel and had a reservation at the "gourmet" restaurant at the hotel.  It was good to have something different to the buffet we were having everyday.
