I didn't go to Leoš's first home game because it was too cold out. The weather was perfect for the second home game, so I decided to go. They played well and beat the other team. In the evening we went to Smichov Naplavka to watch a fire show. Today was the day of witch burning, but because of the game we weren't able to go in time for the big fire burning event, but at least we made it to a fire show. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday.
I came across an event for arts and crafts. The organizer stated that she would help anyone interested in learning how to do embroidery. I had never done it before, so I thought it would be nice to learn a new skill. I arrived a bit late, but it was fine because it was a friend of mine organizing the event. The three ladies at the event were doing embroidery and one was painting. My friend had enough materials to get me started and showed me the basic techniques. I hope that my finished project will look nice in the end. It was a nice relaxed event where we chatted over tea and cake while working on our projects. I'll try to go to another event in the future. Thanks for teaching me how to do embroidery.
My friend wanted to walk in nature, so I figured a walk in Chuchle Park would be a good place to go. We went to the outdoor zoo and walked all over the park. Then we walked along the river to head towards back to the center of Prague. Along the path we came across a stop for a public boat to cross the river. It was such a beautiful day and ended up being quite warm. I was able to have my first soft serve ice cream of the year. It was a nice day and we ended up walking quite a bit.
Prague was having a special event in which several restaurants were participating in. Restaurants had two set menus to choose from with a special price. For an appetizer, main, dessert and gin tonic the set price was 790czk. There were several restaurant in the event in which only getting a main and dessert would be that price, so Leoš and I wanted to take advantage. We looked through all the menus and wanted to make sure that we would want to try both menus. We decided on Sansho and we were very happy with our decision. Everything tasted great and I would gladly return to the restaurant another time.
Since our drive back to Praha was going to be long, I thought it would be nice to make a quick stop in Germany to check out another city. I randomly came across Baden Baden on the map and it looked like a cute little city. The stop was a great idea. Once we found parking, the city was easy to navigate on foot and the flowers around the city were beautiful. Everything was blossoming and stunning. We couldn't stay that long because of the drive ahead of us but I think we were able to see a good amount. We had a small lunch at a bakery and everything tasted great. It was nice to at least have a bit of good German baked goods. The surprise birthday trip Leoš planned was wonderful and I am happy that we visited the 3 cities. My birthday week was unforgettable!
