For my birthday present, Leoš told me that he would surprise me with a trip for the Easter weekend. It was the second time in two days that I got into a vehicle not knowing where the destination would be. The first time was absolutely a surprise and AMAZING, so I figured this would be no different. Leoš did a great job surprising me with the restaurant a day before my birthday, so I didn't want to know at all where we were going. I was so confused in the car and had NO IDEA where we were going. I was completely shocked when we crossed a bridge and were suddenly in FRANCE. That was a complete surprise. I didn't expect that at all! As we were arriving the surprise destination, there was a replica of the Statue of Liberty at a round about. We arrived to Colmar, France. The reason there was a replica of the Statue of Liberty is because the man who designed it was from Colmar. Since it was a bit far from the center, we just drove past and decided we would stop by it when we leave the city. Our accommodation was just a 15 minute walk from the city center. Colmar is known for having the biggest Easter Market in Europe. The market was quite nice and completely different to the ones in Prague. The stands were completely different to each other and had some great stuff. The town was picturesque and the buildings were so great to look at. It was very nice walking around the city. The reflections in the river photos were great. For dinner we decided to eat the local cuisine. We got tarte flambee and a cheesy pasta dish. It was a wonderful first day of the long weekend.
