No trip to southern California would be complete without a trip to Las Vegas. It had been quite a long time since I visited, I'm guessing over 10 years. We decided to make the 5 hour drive and stay for 2 nights. We didn't have much traffic driving there so that was great. While checking out the route, I somehow saw the Seven Magic Mountains monument. The colors of the balanced rocks really stood out in the desert landscape. Unfortunately as soon as we arrived the wind picked up and it was raining a bit. Despite the bad weather we decided to check out the art installation. Each "magic mountain" ranged from 9-10 meters high. The artist is Ugo Rondinone from Switzerland. He created it in 2016 and it was supposed to up for only 2 years, but because of its popularity it still stands today. After the Seven Magic Mountains visit we made our way to the motel in Downtown Las Vegas. Our accommodation was less than a 10 min walk from the Fremont Experience. For our first night we decided to just stay in Downtown Las Vegas. When we were walking inside the California Casino a couple behind us asked us if they could ask a question, I told them sure. They asked if we were going to the main strip at any point of our trip, I told them we would go the next day. Then they proceeded to give us a $25 voucher they had won at the Flamingo. It was their last night and they wouldn't have time to go back so they didn't want the money to go to waste. It was such a nice gesture! They told me to win big......that will be for the next post.........
