Trebic

It had been a while since I visited Trebic with Leos, so it was time I went.  We arrived Friday afternoon and left on Sunday morning.  My in-laws' garden is quite nice, so I took many photos of the flowers and fruits.  Not all the fruit was ready to be picked, so we just took home the red current.  I made some delicious jam with the fruit.  When we got back to the apartment on Sunday evening, I was FINALLY able to play with my Super Nintendo console.  I brought it back from California in January, but we didn't have the right cords to connect it to the TV.  TVs have changed a LOT since I played Super Nintendo at home so we had to get several things to connect it correctly. We finally had all the correct cords. It has been a long time since I have been able to play Super Mario and Donkey Kong, so it was great to be able to do so.  Now I get to prepare a little bit before out trip next month!

Tie Dye

It was the last day of teaching before the summer holiday and it was a great day.  Yes, there were storms, but I was lucky enough to be in my student's home during the rain.  I got some nice presents and walked home in the forest.  It was beautiful after the rain and I didn't come across a single person from the time I entered the forest all the way until I got home.  It was quite peaceful.  When I got home, I prepared some clothes to be tie dyed.  I had another online lesson and then I colored the clothes and let them rest until the next day.  The next morning was really hot and perfect to be washing out the left over dye from the clothes.  I was also busy drying my mint and cutting the lavender bush.  It was such a nice time in the village and perfect way to start the summer.

Indian Summer Festival

This weekend I was supposed to go to Bratislava with Leos and my parents, but my parents had to cancel. At the last minute a friend of mine, who I met while filming last year, invited me to go to the Indian Summer Festival. Luckily, I arrived an hour earlier than I planned and it was perfect timing because it was time for the holi colors. I went to the stage and was able to grab a few packets of color and throw them in the air with everyone.  It was so much fun!  I went prepared and wore clothes I didn't mind getting dirty with colors. The last time I enjoyed the colors was during a Color Run in Santiago, Chile.  I was ready and didn't mind getting the colors on me.  All the people I hung out with didn't want any of their clothes to get dirty.  Basically I got colors thrown on me and then my friend would take the powder off of my face and carefully put it on her face and others.  It was quite funny.  The main act for the festival was the world's first female bhangra team called Eternal Taal.  They were so good and did a great job hyping up the crowd.  My friend and I danced for so many hours.  It was such a good cardio workout.  I had so much fun!  Thanks for the invite!
