professional volleyball tourney in manly, australia

The day after the uner 21s were finished with their tournament, the professionals came to the beach to practice for their tournament. Since they were just coming for practice, it was easy for me to speak with them and get them to wear my glasses. Thank you all so much for participating. I wish you all the best of luck in the tournament!!! I was even able to get a new country represented on my blog, OMAN!!!

My friend and I were walking around the beach and saw that there was a competition going on. We went to see what it was and we saw that there was a volleyball tournament going on. When we first watched it the weather was beautiful. Suddenly the weather took a turn and it was raining. I wanted to watch the gold medal game so I watched under the rain. Unfortunately it was raining too much for me to ask the team from USA an Brazil to wear my glasses. Congrats to the USA team for getting the gold medal against Brazil. Thanks to the Japan and Australian team for wearing my glasses!

Day in Sydney (Grand Thailand Festival)

I decided to make use of the $2.50 transportation cap on sunday, so I went to the city to walk around. Randomly I came across a Thailand Festival. I was a bit sad because before I arrived to the festival, I ate some food and was too full to enjoy the delicious Thai food. I walked around the booths and was able to try thai cotton candy for free, some chicken with peanut sauce for free, got free coconut oil and was able to chat with some really nice people. I found out that the second biggest community outside of Thailand for Thai people is in Sydney. The first is in Los Angeles. After the festival I took the ferry to Olympic Park and the views to get there were awesome! Then I decided to go back to the festival and get some food to take away. I got thai beef salad and mango with sticky rice. On my out of the festival I came across a booth that was selling soccer ball purses. I have never seen anything like them, so I decided to get one. It was a great day in the city. Thanks everyone!

Japanese Festival in Manly, Australia

I had a nice walk from Spit Bridge to Manly with my friends on Saturday morning and when I came back into Manly I saw that there was some dancing going on in the corso. Then I realized that there was a small festival in commemoration for the huge earthquake that hit Japan in 2011. The people who were there were really nice and everyone let me take their photo. The dancing was really great and I had a fun time for the short amount of time I was there. Thank you!!
