My trip to Georgia wouldn't be complete without a visit to the village I lived in 10 years ago. I had to visit Karajala and visit the family I stayed with and also the school I worked in. I was lucky enough to have one of the English teachers pick me up in Telavi and take me to the school. It was so strange driving back into the village and getting to the school. I was so great to see the principal, Elza. After we caught up I went to my host family's house. I was so lucky to catch all of them at home. It was great to have a reunion after all these years. My host brother is now taller than me! The family invited me to come back later in the evening to have dinner at their place. When I got back to the school I was invited to go out for lunch. The lunch was delicious and Elza gave me 20 churchkhelas to take home with me. When I got back to Telavi, I walked around in the snow with Lela and her kids and got some nice views of the city. In the evening my host father picked me up along with another English teacher and we went back to his house for dinner. I got to help make a few khinkali. It was a really nice evening to have with the host family. When I got back to the house in Telavi just before 10pm my co-teacher told me she had a student waiting for me. I thought she was joking, but she wasn't. I was so tired from the day, but I felt pressured to teach a lesson. At 10:30pm I had to say I was finished. Then I remembered that there wasn't any water left in the house plumbing. I forgot that in Georgia, houses have their water tanks filled by the water truck every 2 days. I was exhausted and it was a great day until the end.
