Bahrain Fort

When we looked at the map, we saw an area that said Garden City.  It wasn't too far, so we thought we should walk to it.  The walk to the area was nice.  We really got to enjoy some nice city views.  However, when we got to Garden City, nothing was there.  All there was was a sign.  It seems like they might be in the works of something, but nothing was there.  It was such a disappointment and it was quite hot.  We walked all that way for nothing.  We found another beach we could maybe swim in, but we didn't want to take our chances.  We then went inside a few malls so I could check them out and to escape the heat.  Finally we made our way to the fort.  It was quite nice, but unfortunately it was closed! We couldn't go inside.  We waited for the bus and went back to the center.  We tried going to a popular restaurant, but it was closed due to Ramadan.  We found a Pakistani restaurant and got food there. It was nice.  Then I wanted to go back to The Avenues shopping mall to get a pearl necklace I had seen the time we went to that mall.  Bahrain back in the day was famous for pearls, so that is why I wanted the necklace.  I like to get a piece of jewelry every country I go to and this necklace was it.  The lady who made it has had her stuff on the red carpet, so I thought that was an added bonus.  Afterwards we walked along the water front and made our way back to the hotel.
