Cerro Pucara de Chena

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day for a hike.  My friends and I joined a hiking group to go to Cerro Pucara de Chena.  It was a free guided hike with some really friendly guides.  At the beginning of the hike I didn't think that there was much of a challenge, but then we had to hike up a very steep incline.  For a novice hiker, one would need to bring hiking sticks.  This was the first hike that I have been on where I find that the hiking poles would be great for people who are not that used to hiking.  I was fine without them :)  The hills were so green and lush because of all the rain we had last week.  The flowers were unreal, especially the red and blue ones.  I actually have never such a blue flower like the one I saw.  Everyone on the hike was really nice and we were also accompanied by 2 stray dogs.  They were so cute and loyal.  They kept following us everywhere.  At the end of the hike we saw some ancient ruins that indicated that the Incas used to come to the area.  It was a very informative hike (if you are able to understand Spanish).  I had a lot of fun and it was a wonderful day for a hike.  It was nice meeting everyone and thanks to everyone who participated!
