My friends and I decided that we needed to have an early start. We made our way to the town center and took a jeep to Valle de Cocora. The views were absolutely stunning. The valley had so many wax trees and the sun was quite strong while we were walking. Then the vegetation changed and we were in a forest next to the river. We had to cross several bridges to get to our destination, Acaime. It was a hummingbird reserve. We were able to see at least 6 different kinds of hummingbirds and we were able to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and cheese. Yes, this sounds very strange, but its actually really good. We ate it wrong, but it was still good. We would break pieces off and dip it into the hot chocolate. What you're supposed to do is just dump the cheese into the chocolate and wait for it to melt. Its a fresh cheese so it stays intact, but its becomes chewy. Then we walked to the view point and made our way back to Salento. We had a delicious lunch that was very cheap and then went to another restaurant where we relaxed in the movie room until my friends had to take their bus back to Pereira.
