Salento, Colombia Day 1

A friend of mine who I met while in the Republic Georgia teaching told me to come visit her in Colombia. She told me what city she was in and we met. She brought along a couple of other teacher friends and we went to a town called Salento. it was absolutely gorgeous! It was so green and there were so many wonderful views. We started out by eating at a delicious vegetarian restaurant. Then we went to get the infamous peanut butter brownie. It was heaven on a plate. Then we made our way to a coffee finca for a tour,but once we got there, the company said they were done for the day. We were a bit annoyed because it took us over an hour just to walk there and now we just had to turn back around. The highlight for my friend was seeinga picture of her boyfriend's brother on the company's poster. It was quite random. We returned to the town and went to a bar to play a local game where you must throw clay disks at a ring with mini gun powder triangles. It was a fun game and we actually stayed out longer than expected. It was a wonderful first day in Salento.
