Palmer Station/ Torgerson Island

Our ship was very lucky in the fact that we were able to go to Palmer Station.  Not that many ships are invited to visit the station.  Luckily a ship canceled their spot and we were able to take it.  It was great to have a tour of the station and see most of the facilities they have there.  It was also nice to be able to talk to the people who work there.  It was interesting to be able to see krill and how tiny they actually are.  It´s hard to imagine that such a tiny creature can create whales to become as large as they are.  The day was beautiful!!!!  We had blue skies and the sun made an appearance.  We had a barbeque on the deck of the ship that was delicious.  It was great to be in the sun and finally eat outside.  After lunch we had a stop at Torgerson Island.  We got to see more Adelie penguins and go on a zodiac cruise.  Another great, special and unique day!
