Piratour (penguin tour)

Today was truly a gorgeous day in Patagonia.  It was sunny, hot and there wasnt any wind!! Piratour was an amazing tour to see the penguins, If you are not able to go to Antarctica to see them, I HIGHLY suggest you take this tour.  It is the ONLY tour in which you are able to get onto the Martillo Island.  All the other boats just stop at the shore, but can not disembark.  Before going to the island we went to a museum at Estancia Haberton.  They had a lot of great skeletons on display.  It was quite impressive to see all the bones they have collected.  After the museum we got on a zodiac and we ready to go to the island.  As we approached the island we were able to see penguins swimming around the place and hundreds on penguins just chilling on the beach.   The two types of penguins that inhabit the island are the  Magellanic and Gentoo Penguins.  We were also VERY lucky to see 2 King Penguins.  It was a rare sighting because they are not supposed to be in this part of the world.  I was really excited to see them because they truly are amazing to see.   The guide was very informative and the tour was incredible.  I was lucky enough to have 2 penguins be very curious and bite me. One of them even walked over my shoe.  It was awesome!!!  I dont think many people can say that that has ever happend to them!
